Tubeless tire Schwalbe Pro One

I have used the tubeless tire, called Pro One, made by Schwalbe since june, 2017. My mileage of pro one is aboout 3,000km. You may think I am a lazy rider, in that mileage is too short. But I have ridden more, using my turbo trainer.

Yes, it is very difficult - I think, impossible -  for me to fit Pro One tubeless without a compressor. To fit this tire, I have used many CO2 cartridge. I am considering buying a compressor.

Tubeless tire doesn't need inner tube, so it is immune to snake bite puncture. This point led to my transition from clincher to tubeless. As a result, I have never experienced puncture since last year.

I have never ridden in the wet condition, so I cannot comment on this.

I think this tubeless tire is "difficult to fit " , not " won't fit ". My wheel is shamal ultra two way fit. I tried to fit on my wheel by regular air pump, but I failed. Again I tried by CO2 cartridge, and I won. 

I wonder if he used a selant, which must be injected into inner of tubeless tire.

My thought is same. This tire's biggest quality is comport, because I can reduce pressure of tire by 10~15 psi compared with continental clincher. My weight is 64kg, so I keep 90 ~ 95 psi on front and rear wheel. 

Many people have said the cumbersome fit of pro one in South Korea, too. But most tubeless tires have a common problem.

• be careful of choosing a valve

My Pro one tire(25mm) is too wide for my 2015 shamal ultra. So unbalanced, more air drag, but this tire rolls amazingly smooth. In fact, several lab tests on Pro One shows this tire's performance is high. Most clincher tires with butyl tube have higher rolling resistance than pro one tubeless tire but that clincher tires use latex tube. I use latex tube, which feels certainly smooth.

Summary Review

Many users complain about poor fit, though Schwalbe promote this tire as "tubeless easy". I had failed to fit several times, and it took so much times for me to learn to fit this tire onto the rim of shamal ultra two way fit. But now I can easily fit it on my wheel and other tubeless ready wheels. I become the master of Pro One tubeless. 

Some users complain that it is vulnerable to puncture. Though I have ridden about 3,000km since last year, puncture never happens to me. Of course, I usually ride on tarmacked roads or bike roads that are in good condition.

Most people praise this tire for good performance. I agree. You can ride on lower psi, compared with clincher or tubular, which leads to more comport riding feel. Additionally, the rolling resistance of this tire is so low that you can save your precious power(watt) by 3~5 watts.
