Cycle computer - Hammerhead Karoo review : Map and Navigation
Karoo
" Cycle computers available on the market are too expensive and their touchscreen or display is so poor." I have thought. So I have sought out the cycle computer, which meets my needs. Suddenly, Hammerhead's Karoo is on the battle stage of cycle computer. I ordered it eight months ago and finally I got it.

When I watched the commercial of Karoo last year, I was so impressed with the navigation functionality and convenience of creating routes. Karoo hired the develop team members called dynamicwatch, which I think helped improve the quality of karoo mapping and navigation.
First, You have to go to its website to figure out the mapping of karoo. If you don't have the account of karoo, create it, sign in, and click "Dashboard". You will watch the following picture.
Now, you have two option for creating routes : import another route and creating your own route by yourself. I recommend the first option, which is so cool and easy. Click "Import". Follow the process.
- Download a gpx file from Strava.
- Go to Karoo dashboard and click "import" button.
- Drop The file you downloaded on "Import GPS File" section.
- Turn on Karoo GPS unit and touch "route"
You can see Karoo GPS computer becomes sync with karoo sever.
Before I got karoo unit, I had used Wahoo element. It offers the function of navigation, especially "turn-by-turn", but to use "turn-by-turn" in element unit, I had to create route. If you download another person's GPS file and import the file to wahoo element, you can't use "turn-by-burn," which is very annoying to me.
However, Karoo offers turn-by-turn even when importing a gpx file. It is super cool and surprising. I am sure that you are fascinated by this function.
I used karoo only once, but I became strongly interested in this unit. I will ride more with karoo. On the next post, I post in-depth review on Karoo. Thank you for your reading.
